It glides over the skin and penetrates deeply, softening the surface and bringing amino acids and vitamins to deeper layers, while helping other oils it is mixed with to penetrate more deeply.
Sweet almond oil is the best for skin care uses. It has a lighter smell than bitter almond oil, which is used in food and medicines. Cold pressed oils are always best, as they retain more of the natural benefits of their source.
Some people are sensitive to almond oil. I don’t use it in my facial products, but have had no issues at all with it as part of a body or massage oil, where its light, penetrating qualities are really helpful.
